BIOGRAPHY

Aubrey Alomar (she/they) is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina. She graduated in the Spring of 2023 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts specializing in Design and Production and a minor in Art Studio.

In October of 2023, Aubrey started a job at ANIMAX Designs in Nashville, TN. ANIMAX designs and creates animatronics, puppets, costume characters, and more based or representative of Intellectual Property from clients around the world (which include but are not limited to Disney, Universal, and Nintendo). As a Fabrication Technician in the Soft Goods Department, she learned more about foam construction, foam patterning, finishing techniques, collaboration between departments, and the importance of documentation in IP-driven environments. Unfortunately, she was laid off in August 2024 due to lack of work; but she is excited to use these skills in her next pursuit.

Prior to ANIMAX, Aubrey finished her last design position with Coastal Carolina as the Puppet Designer for The Green Bird in February 2023. She attended the 2023 Southeastern Theatre Conference and won First Place in the Costume Crafts Design Competition for her puppet “Fata Serpentina” aka “Tina” from The Green Bird.

Some of her Technical Skills include Puppet Design and Construction, Properties Construction, Properties Management, Scenic Painting, Carpentry, and Hand/Machine Sewing.

They also like to perform!

In November of 2022, Aubrey had the opportunity to perform as “Soupy Sue/Cladwell’s Secretary” in a Production of Urinetown at Coastal Carolina University. She has also recently discovered a love for physical theatre! Right now her hobbies include juggling, spinning plates, and even spontaneously balancing items on her head.
